Vergoullis Specialized Dental Center was established in 2005 in Rhodes Island, Greece, with a commitment to providing exceptional periodontal and implant care. Our practice is led by Dr. Ioannis Vergoullis, a highly trained specialist in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, U.S.A.
Dr. Vergoullis is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a Fellow of the International College of Oral Implantology. He holds extensive credentials as a visiting assistant professor in Periodontics at LSU and has garnered international recognition for his innovative techniques, lectures, and contributions to the field, including co-inventing the Cervico System—a specialized set of tools in implantology adopted by clinicians and universities across over 47 countries. Dr. Vergoullis currently holds 21 patents in implantology, underscoring his commitment to advancing dental care globally.
Our clinic is a state-of-the-art facility equipped with cutting-edge technology such as digital radiography, advanced laser systems, and computerized dental software to provide the highest standards of care. The clinic operates with two Periodontists: a General Dentist focused strictly on periodontal and implant maintenance, and an Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon, a TMJ and Orofacial pain Specialist. We also collaborate with a network of leading dental specialists to offer comprehensive care across all dental needs.

Dr. Ioannis Vergoullis
Dr. Vergoullis obtained his dental degree with honors from the University of Athens School of Dental Medicine, followed by certification in Periodontics and Implant Surgery and a Master’s in Oral Biology at Louisiana State University. He is widely respected for his clinical expertise, in addition to being an active member of esteemed dental organizations including the American Academy of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration, the German Society of Implantology, and the Hellenic Academy of Esthetic Dentistry.
Dr. Vergoullis’s dedication to education and innovation is evident through his numerous patents, his role as a visiting assistant professor at LSU, and his international lectures and presentations on advanced techniques in soft and hard tissue management around implants. His passion for advancing implant dentistry is further demonstrated in his role as co-founder and board member of the Hellenic Society of Implantology.
