Biopsies

Early detection and laboratory diagnosis of oral lesions, with conventional and laser techniques and trusted pathology partners.

Cysts, tumors and other lesions of the mouth can be detected by clinical examination or radiographically at an early stage. Oral cancer screening is a routine part of every initial consultation at our clinic, and suspicious tissue can be sampled or removed where needed.

A biopsy is the removal of suspicious tissue for laboratory analysis. The biopsy report not only establishes a diagnosis, it also enables a specific plan of treatment.

When a biopsy is recommended

  • When clinical examination alone is not sufficient for a diagnosis
  • When a lesion does not respond to conservative treatment
  • When a pre-malignant condition is suspected
  • When a lesion interferes with function or appearance

Types of biopsy

Incisional biopsy removes a representative portion of the lesion for microscopic examination. Excisional biopsy removes the entire lesion together with a margin of healthy tissue for pathological evaluation.

We use both conventional and laser-based techniques and collaborate with high-quality pathology laboratories in Greece for diagnostic accuracy.
